    Explorers Weekly Reflect and Review

25 November 2022 (by Zoe Goodin (ZoeG))

What an exciting week, we have experimented in Science, enjoyed new sports equipment for our ODPDR time, completed our monologue in English (lots of epic villain speeches) and began learning more about fractions in Maths.

This week we have learnt all about the geographically features of mountains, volcanoes and earthquakes. We've considered what we can do when there is a volcanic eruption or an earthquake. We have started our Science unit on States of Matter and reversible and irreversible change. This term when we are completing our Science topic we are particularly focused on planning our experiments to be true scientific investigations. We are currently conducting an experiment to see if we can prevent apple slices from oxidising and then considering if this will be a reversible or irreversible change.

Next Week we will continue to plan and conduct reversible and irreversible change experiments. We will be starting a new English topic where we will write in the style of a diary entry, based on the 79CE Mt Vesuvius eruption. In maths we are working on fractions and problem solving.

    Monday - Swimming continues

Wednesday- Advent service at the church on Wednesday (parents are welcome to join us at 9:30 at the church).

Looking forward to seeing to tomorrow 9-11 for our open morning.
