Oceans' weekly Reflect and Review9 December 2022 (by Menna (Menna)) |
What can we say - what an amazing week! We did it! After three months of lyric writing, music composition, singing and numerous rehearsals, we performed at the Sheldonian theatre on Wednesday.
A huge thank you to everyone who came to watch us, the chidren performed magnificently, behaved beautiful and sang to the heavens. In between rehearsals, we had a brief tour around Oxford, visiting the New Theatre where the children got to have a back stage peek at what goes on behind the curtain. We took in the majesty of the Sheldonian, recognising a portrait of Sir Christopher Wren (the architect who designed St Paul's Cathedral in London) while admiring the beautiful newly restored ceiling.
Next week we'll be thinking about the Christmas Narrative and asking the question 'Does the Christmas story need Mary?'. On Friday we'll be taking part in the annual Santa's Run, a fundraising event for Helen and Douglas House. Please visit our justgiving page to donate to raise money for the charity. Throughout the week they'll be various festive themed dressing opportunities:
Monday - wear your Christmas colours
Tuesday - Sparkle Day
Wednesday - Christmas Hair and Hats (and Christmas dinner)
Thursday - PJ day
Friday - Christmas crazy and Santa run fundraiser for Helen and Douglas House - wear your trainers!
