    This week in Explorers we have started our new topic on earthquakes, with a particular focus on the 2011 earthquake off the coast of Japan.

    In English this week we learnt all about Haiku poems and have written our own. In Maths we have been learning about algebra and decimals. We have started a very interesting topic on earthquakes, linking into last terms topic on volcanoes, we have learnt where and how earthquakes occur and some of the aftereffects of an earthquake – such as a Tsunami.

    Homework for Year 6’s.

    The school has bought SATs practice books. They are very helpful in reviewing content and identifying anything students are struggling on. The following homework has been set for Year 6’s – The books are due back on Tuesday as we use them in class as well.

     

    Discovery – Maths: Set A, Test 3, p.7-9. Optional - Reading: Set A, Test 1,p. 2-4, Grammar, Punctuation and .Spelling: Set A, Test 4, p.14-17

    Endeavour – Maths Set A, Test 2.

    Endurance – Reading CGP book – pages 2-7

     

    Swimming will be running on Monday.

    We have a cricket workshop on Tuesday learning about cooperation and leadership

    Wednesday, we have our Epiphany Gathering.

    Thursday – Endurance and Beagle class have Ukulele lessons
