What a great week we have had in Explorers! Endeavour, Endurance and Discovery have been looking at first-person narratives this week, looking at the story of Black Beauty by Anna Sewell. We have now written our own stories from the perspective of an animal. Beagle have had the opportunity this week to really develop their planning skills, allowing them to write great stories too! In Science, we have developed our understanding of classification and life-cycles and have begun our work on habitats by investigating whether or not plants grow better in a greenhouse. We will be recording our results over the next two weeks.

Next week: 

Next week we will be completing a great art project, involving scaling drawing to create standing collages of animals. The animals chosen will link to the book that we are beginning to focus on in English - Running Wild by Michael Morpurgo. In Maths, we will be continuing with perimeter, area and volume.

To support our art project we would be very grateful for any cereal boxes, or equivalent, for us to make our collage bases from, and any old catalogues, newspapers or magazines. We will need these by Wednesday. Thank you.

Homework:

All children are to be completing daily reading, filling in their bookmark each day.
