Coral Reef Weekly Reflect and Review

10 March 2023 (by Laura Thornton (LauraT))

The children have had a fantastic week. The highlight being the day spent with John from the Oxford Lieder Music Project. The children have already been asking when he will be back.

We have been busy starting our preparations for our Mother’s Day Tea which will be taking place on Friday 17th March- you will be in for a real treat so make sure you pack some tissues! Mums, please let us know if you are able to join us.
We have started some work based around The Adventures of the Little Prince and the Little Prince arrived in our classroom. We have been talking about about what it would feel like to come to a new place and thinking of ways we can help the Little Prince feel welcome and Get to know our school. We will continue to focus on this next week.

We have been using clay again this week- this time to create our own monsters. We have enjoyed drawing pictures linked to the fantastic story ‘The Hairy Toe’ in drawing club.

We also enjoyed our day spent with the Lieder Project joining in with songs and contributing ideas to create our own lyrics for songs.

The children have been making fantastic progress in their writing this term and are feeling more confident to apply their phonics knowledge when writing independently and in their phonics sessions. Next week we will be thinking of a name for our monster and writing about them. We will also be doing some writing based on our focus book ‘Where The Wild Things Are’

We want children to come to school every day they possibly can even if they have a little cold or cough but if your child is feeling really unwell or has COVID symptoms please keep them at home until they are felling better.

    Have a lovely weekend
