Coral Reef weekly reflect and review

17 March 2023 (by Laura Thornton (LauraT))

Firstly we would like to say a huge thank you to all the mums who were able to join us for our afternoon tea today. We hope that you enjoyed your time with us and we hope you have a happy Mothering Sunday.

If you took any photos during the tea that you wouldn’t mind sharing with us, please email them to coralreef@stfrideswides.co.uk we would love to have some to add to our class floorbook!
We have had a busy week preparing for the tea… rehearsing our song and poem, making cards, painting our flowerpots and planting our seeds as well as baking cakes! Our cooking activity inspired some of the children to role play restaurants in our home corner so we added some enhancements to support and extend their play and it has been wonderful to see the children using their phonics to write menus and customer orders!
We have also been applying our phonics to write sentences about our clay monsters and the children have had some really imaginative ideas.

Next week we will be looking at the story ‘Once there were Giants’ by Martin Waddle. As part of this we will be thinking about our own chronology and thinking about what we can do now that we couldn’t as a baby and what we want to do when we grow up! We would love for the children to share photos of themselves as babies, please email us a photo if you can. Thank you to those parents who have already sent one in.
    Have a restful weekend

    The Coral Reef Team
