Coral Reef Weekly Reflect and Review5 May 2023 (by Laura Thornton (LauraT)) |
We have investigating sunflowers as part of our Sunflower Challenge, we looked at lots of different images of sunflowers to help us to become Sunflower experts!
On our art table we looked at sunflowers in art and were inspired to paint or use chalk pastels to create our own sunflower pictures.
We compared Cowley with a costal town, in this instance St Ives. We looked at picture, maps and some of the physical features. We created our own coastal maps and included features such as Harbours and Piers.
Some of the children have begun to sew their own felt fish and their interest and focus has been fantastic to see. We will continue to make these over the next few weeks.
We will continue our Sunflower explorations next week and use our maths skills to work out if we have enough pots and seeds for everyone to plant one.
As part of our topic work we will be learning how to make paper boats and performing floating and sinking experiments.
Please donate any recycling you might have at home for our making table, such as cereal boxes, kitchen roll tubes and pots.
Don't forget to tag us in your Coronation celebrations over the weekend!
Have a happy, long weekend and we will see you on Tuesday.
