Coral Reef weekly Reflect and Review12 May 2023 (by Laura Thornton (LauraT)) |
We have packed a lot into this week. We have completed our non fiction postcard writing about the adventures of the Snail and the Whale. Today the children were able to recall the all the different places and things they had seen..
We had another fantastic music day with John and Kate from Oxford Lieder where we played percussion instruments, sang songs, made up our own songs and played musical games, it was a lot of fun!
In drawing club we thought about the main character Stanley who thought he was a Jellyfish, in fact he was a plastic bag and we have begun to talk about how we can look after our oceans.
As part of our topic sessions next week we will be continuing to learn about plastic pollution think about how we can protect our oceans in the future.
The children will be creating some repurposed plastic artwork. On Monday we would like every child to bring in a small collection of plastic rubbish- this could include bottle tops, plastic packets/wrappers, straws, bags etc.
During our Write Stuff writing sessions we will be completing non fiction writing based on the book ‘What if Sharks Disappeared?’
On Tuesday/Wednesday we will be off to G&D’s Ice Cream shop and we will be learning how to make ice cream! The children are already very excited about this! Thank you to those parents who are helping us. We will be leaving school at 8.45 on these days.
Don’t forget that it is PE on Monday so all children should come to school in their PE Kit.
Have a great weekend
