As per the St Fred's High information letter, we are going to the Oxford Science Hub at St John's College, Livingstone are going tomorrow and Darwin are going on Thursday.
We are leaving school by 8:35 am and are walking to the college. We aim to return by 3:30 pm.
Oxford Science Hub have a strict dress code in order for the children to take part in the experiments. Staying as close to the school uniform as possible (e.g. jeans allowed with white top and school hoodie/jumper) this is the dress code that we have been sent:
Acceptable Clothing for the workshops
Sensible clothing is expected and the Department of Chemistry reserves the right to refuse entry to a workshop for anyone who does not conform. Clothing should be thick enough that it protects the skin against spilled substances.
No bare flesh should be visible once an apron/lab coat is worn, other than hands and face.
No sandals, open top shoes (e.g. ballerina pumps) or high heels.
Wear long trousers or jeans (no shorts, short skirts, tights, leggings, cropped trousers, ripped jeans).
Ensure ankles are covered (no trainer socks).
Long hair must be tied up
All children must bring a packed lunch and a snack.
