We've been focusing on pair and small group work as we build our collaboration skills, thinking about how we can work well with others to achieve even more. The children all took part in our PSHE afternoon today where we played Dig, Dig, Dig, a game where we find out more about eachother, digging to find more information.

We introduced our new Golden Time across the whole phase, something the children were very excited about. As per our jot earlier in the week, we explained to the children that they need to complete 15 minutes of Sumdog and Reading each day and their weekly Maths and spelling/handwriting task to gain their 15 minutes bonus Golden Time in addition to their normal 15 minutes of Golden Time. We understand there have been some problems with loggin into Sumdog - we have contacted them and confirmed that the school code is stfrideswide (all one word) so children should be able to log in now. Please let us know on Monday if you have been unable to login over the weekend. 

Next week will be a busy week as we take part in various tournaments, workshops and trips to Somerville College (Y5 only - more info to follow on Monday). A letter came home today about our folk workshop on Wednesday - please send in the £2.50 as a contribution towards the workshop, we are very excited for the workshop and our performance later in the term on Thursday 13th July at 2:15pm.

When we're not taking part in workshops, visiting Somerville College or taking part in tournaments, we'll be beginning our new topic about Black Tudors, exploring autobiographies as a text type and practise telling the time! Remember PE will be on Monday and all children need suncream and a hat as we will all be outside.
