Weekly Reflect and Review30 June 2023 (by Laura Thornton (LauraT)) |
We had a fab end to the week today when some of the dads joined us for forest school. It was lovely for the children to have the opportunity to show their dads the forest school space and take part in some activities together.
Thank you to all of the dads that were able to join us this afternoon, we had a lovely time and we hope you did too!
In our RE sessions this week we have been learning about special places, these included looking at different homes and places around the world as well as different places of worship such as Mosques and Churches. The children looked at images that showed inside these places and the children thought about what makes them special.
In maths the children have been revisiting halving amounts and practising recalling the number bonds (pairs of numbers) that make five through using five frames and playing games. We have been also finding out about odd and even numbers.
We finished writing about Jack and the Jellybean stalk in our ‘Write stuff sessions and drew pictures linked to the beautiful wordless story ‘Bee and Me’. If you want to watch it again at home you can find it on You Tube!
Next week we will be focusing on the story ‘ Sam and Dave Dig a Hole’
We will be looking at life cycles in our topic session and ending the week with our exciting trip to Legoland!
Don’t forget we will be having a brief risk assessment talk after school on Wednesday for those parents joining us on our trip. If you are not able to attend we can go though it with you on the gate.
Have a good weekend
