    Anemones Weekly Reflect and Review

3 November 2023 (by Lisa Brown (LisaB))

What a wonderful first week back! We have been sharing our new story ‘Day monkey, night monkey’ and we have started to think about nocturnal animals, leading us to develop a wildlife area with a hedgehog house!

In phonics we have started to learn about instrumental sounds as we develop our listening skills.

In maths we have continued to name 2d shapes and started to look at different patterns.

We have also enjoyed a range of art activities from creating animal footprints to sticking bats, making play-dough shapes and developing our language skills with new stories and conversations.

We talked about autumn, healthy eating and what we can do to stay healthy. The children chopped a range of vegetables which we then used to make a tasty vegetable soup. This led to conversations around dental hygiene, including lots of discussions about trick or treating! The children shared their own experiences of going to the dentist and their knowledge on how they stay healthy.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and look forward to another busy week next week as we think about Remembrance.
