Ocean’s Weekly Reflect and Review3 November 2023 (by Menna (Menna)) |
This week has been a busy week with our dance workshop, Oxford Song workshops and Godly Play.
We’ve been exploring the question ‘ is light a good symbol for celebration?’. The children loved the dance workshop on Tuesday exploring the story of Diwali with Sujatha and the story of Hannukah through Godly Play on Wednesday. The children have also created their own day of the dead masks to celebrate the festival which we learnt about during Spanish.
Next week we’ll be reading and creating our own riddles, finishing our work on addition and subtraction and exploring how light travels in Science. School photos have been rescheduled for this Tuesday.
The children are very excited for our Open Day on Saturday 25th November 9-11 – please invite your friends and family along so your child can show you their school!
On Monday 27th November, Oceans will be visiting Hill End for an Anglo-Saxons vs Vikings day – please pay via pupil asset – we’re really looking forward to our topic this term, learning about Britain from after Roman Britain until 1066!
On Tuesday 28th November, Year 4 have been invited to Christ Church Cathedral to take part in the Christingle service at 10:30. Parents are welcome to join us – please email us or let a staff member if you are able to accompany us.
Year 4 have been given a worksheet reviewing place value for home learning this week rather than using the White Rose workbooks, please support your child to complete it and return it to school.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend and stay safe around fireworks!
The Oceans Team.
