Anemones Weekly Reflect and Review10 November 2023 (by Lisa Brown (LisaB)) |
This week the children have engaged in a range of activities and experiences that have developed their understanding of Remembrance. They made beautiful poppy pictures and had great fun playing with the soldiers.
In phonics we have continued to develop our listening skills using instrumental sounds and practised our skills as we played sound lotto to identify different sounds.
In maths we are developing our counting skills as we begin to understand number values and can match number to quantity. The children also enjoyed a range of active counting songs. Perhaps hey can teach you a new song this weekend!
In the garden the children worked together throughout the week to make their hedgehog home. They thought about what they needed, collected leaves, cut branches and built the house. They used their language skills to communicate collaboratively and worked hard to problem solve independently. In the sand pit we have noticed some tiny hedgehog paw prints when we go out in the morning so we are hoping our new friend will enjoy the home the children made. They are very proud of what they have created. Next week will will continue to learn about nocturnal animals.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend and will see you all on Monday morning ready for another fun week.
