    Oceans Weekly Reflect and Review

17 November 2023 (by Menna (Menna))

This week in Oceans we've been thinking about the Anglo Saxons and why they travelled to Britain, including building Anglo Saxon houses and playing a game of invasion!

We began the week with our Diwali parties, creating our own Diwali lanterns which children brought home today. In English, we've been learning about Norse Gods as we write the story of Arthur and the Golden Rope. In Maths we've begun our unit of multiplication and division, looking at what equal grouping is and how to create arrays.

Next week we'll be continuing our work on Arthur and the Golden Rope, multiplication and division and exploring who the Vikings were and why they came to Britain. We'll explore the illuminated manuscripts from Lindisfarne as we look at the Viking invasion. We'll also be practising our songs for Oxford Song and our school song as we prepare for our performance on Tuesday 12th December at St John the Evangelist on Iffley Road.

    Upcoming dates:

    Satursday 25th November - Open Day 9-11.

Monday 27th November - trip to Hill End

Tuesday 28th November - Year 4s to Christ Church Cathedral for the christingle service at 10:30. Parents are welcome to join us.

Thursday 4th December - Christmas Jumper Day

Tuesday 12th December - KS2 performance at St John Evangelist on Iffley Road - time TBC.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend,

    The Oceans Team
