    The Pod Reflect and Review

    24 November 2023 (by Sarah Colverson-Martin (Sarah))

Another busy week in the Pod.

This week the children have built on their experiences form last week making their own bread at the dough station, this has build on their manipulation and muscle strength in their hands as they squeeze, squash and press the dough and the water dispensers.

We have looked at books about space and read stories about going into space and astronauts. We created our own planets using balloons and paint. We used large muscle movements as we free painted on to tin foil, we used repetitive language as the children made marks. The paint was cold, smooth, and slippy.

We have practiced our cutting skills as we prepared peppers, tomatoes and cucumber for making pasta salad, thank you to those who brought in a pot to take the pasta home in. Next week we will be making fruit rockets.

We have sung songs to continue to build on our listen skills and have started to practise the songs we will be sharing with you at our stay and play session on Wednesday 6th December.

Next week we will be reading the book 'Whatever Next' and will be joining baby bear on his adventure into space. What can you find at home to make a rocket?

Have a fab weekend and we look forward to seeing lots of you tomorrow at our open morning 9-11
