    Anemones Weekly Reflect and review

1 December 2023 (by Lisa Brown (LisaB))

The children had the greatest fun exploring the ice in different ways, the weather offers such great learning opportunities as they discover new things and experience wonder and awe.

This week we have been thinking about kindness. The children made biscuits and thought about who they would like to give them to. Unfortunately they didn’t get as far as being given as the children enjoyed them themselves, but the thought of spreading joy was there!

we thought about our families, what they do for us and what we do to help those in our families. We extended this to think about friendship, what makes a good friend and how being a great friend brings us joy. The children have shared their thoughts as they engaged in a range of activities f on making cards and pictures to decorating biscuits.

In phonics we played ‘follow my leader’ with the instruments and thought about the different sounds we can make. We also explored sounds in the garden and we developed our listening skills with new games to play.

In maths we are thinking about pattern and have been looking for patterns in the environment and making our own using colours and shapes.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and are able to enjoy your own listening walks in the frosty parks. Have fun and we will see you all back on Monday morning.
