    Oceans weekly reflect and review

1 December 2023 (by Menna (Menna))

    What a jam packed week!

This week has been full of fun and excitement! The children began the week being Vikings and Anglo Saxons at Hill End, exploring what life would have been like and putting their battle tactics to the test! On Tuesday, the year 4s visited Christ Church Cathedral for a beautiful Christingle service. We've concluded our art through history journey for the term, finishing with our exploration of the Bayeux Tapestry (not actually Bayeux and not a tapestry!). The children have created their own depiction of the tapestry using needle and thread - they can all show off their sewing skills this weekend!

Next week we will be beginning to plan our own version of Arthur and the Golden Rope, continuing our work on multiplication and division and beginning our new science topic on electricity! We will be busy preparing for our Oxford Song performance on Tuesday 12th December at St John the Evangelist on Iffley at 1:30 (doors open from 1:15). Please complete and return the letter your child brought home today about the session.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend,

    The Oceans Team.
