Ocean's reflect and review19 January 2024 (by Menna (Menna)) |
A creative week in Oceans!
This week we've been busy learning about William Morris and his beautiful prints. We loved the workshop on Thursday with the staff from Kelmscott House. We enjoyed learning about his life and what inspired him. The children created their own block prints which they used to make a repeated pattern. In English, we've started our new unit based on the book The Iron Man (not Tony Stark!) and have started to explore the story. In Maths, we've been continuing with multiplication and division, using related number facts and working on moving up in our CLICs and SAFEs.
Next week, we'll continue our sentence stacking in English, finish our work on multiplication and division and will begin to create our own art robots during topic using our scientific knowledge of electrical circuits!
We have had a clear conversation with the children about home learning and expectations. Please support your child to complete 30 minutes of sumdog by Wednesday morning and 60 minutes by Friday morning. Children will miss out on 15 minutes of their homelearning golden time if they do not complete their sumdog by Friday morning. If your child has problems logging on, please speak with us by Wednesday and we will support them to complete it during the week.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend,
The Oceans Team.
