Reflet and review21 January 2024 (by Sarah Colverson-Martin (Sarah)) |
Another busy week
Firstly welcome to all our new children and families, we have all settled back into the nursery routine ready to start our new topic of Superhero's.
As we read Supertato we will be looking at other super hero's, people that help us and real super hero's.
The children have rescued the veggies that evil pea played tricks on freezing them in blocks of ice. We made super vehicles in the garden using crates, they all had different super powers that would protect them from evil pea.
We have looked at different types of vegetables and talked about how they can keep us healthy and strong. We then chopped up the vegetables and made them into soup. Which was very much needed on a cold day, not all the children liked the soup! This building on our physical development.
We have been reading and retelling stories using the puppets, joining in with the repeated refrains. As we do this we are developing our communication and language skills, extending our vocabulary and understanding. This also imbeds the early stages of understanding story structure.
We have wrapped up warm and found 'real ice' in the garden and kept warm by playing hide and seek and chasing Sarah round the garden.
We hope you have a lovely weekend and will see you all next week. I wonder if evil pea has got up to any mischief over the weekend?
