    Oceans weekly reflect and review

23 February 2024 (by Menna (Menna))

    An animated week in Oceans!

This week in Oceans, we’ve started our new book, the BFG and have thoroughly enjoyed thinking about what dreams we’d like and have created our own words in the style of Roald Dahl. In Art, we’ve been creating our own BFG giants out of paper and animating them using the iMotion app. If you have a tablet or device, your child can create their own at home to show you! In maths we’ve finished the unit on perimeter and measurement. Both Year 3 and Year 4 need to complete pages 58 and 59 in their White Rose Maths books.

Next week we’ll begin writing in the style of Roald Dahl as we start our sentence stacking. In maths, we’ll be moving onto fractions and investigating unit and non unit fractions. In the afternoons we’ll be investigating magnets and different forces, thinking about push, pull and friction.

In other news, please see the message below about a maths workshop opportunity for parents:

Do you find maths tricky and struggle to support your child with their maths homework at home? Or find managing money and finances a challenge? If you are aged 19 and over and live in Oxford, we are offering parent workshops to support you. The sessions will be run by friendly faces from the St Frideswide team. Please complete this google form, email the office@stfrideswides.co.uk or speak to Menna or Ria on the gate at the end of the day.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend!
