Anemones Weekly Reflect and review1 March 2024 (by Lisa Brown (LisaB)) |
The children have had another busy week being garden explorers! We have looked for bugs and then designed and created our own butterflies, caterpillars and ladybirds using a range of skills such as cutting, sticking, folding and drawing. We had great fun slashing in the puddles too. Please remember that your child needs waterproof clothing, wellies and spare clothes in school each day.
In phonics we have been thinking about rhyming words and had great fun sharing new stories and finding new rhyming words. Hairy McLary was a favourite this week. I wonder what stories you will share this weekend? We also continued on our journey with Tizzy in our guided reading sessions.
In maths we focused in the story of Goldilocks and the 3 bears. Thinking about concepts such as big and little, more and less, all gone and counting. We also used Goldilocks to think about positional language as she jumped on the beds, hid under the chairs and ran around the trees.
This Thursday is World Book Day, and we're turning it into a cosy and enchanting event for the children. To make the day extra special, we invite all the children to come to school wearing their favourite pyjamas!
Throughout the day, the children will take part in a series of story sessions to ignite their imagination and love for reading. The children will have the chance to dive into the enchanting world of stories, surrounded by the comfort of their pyjamas.
We encourage you to send your child dressed in their cosiest pyjamas, ensuring they are ready for a day filled with tales, giggles, and the joy of shared stories.
Let's make World Book Day a day to remember!
