This week we have been busy being experts as we take on the Mantle of the Expert. This week’s scenario: A developer wants to turn Florence Park into a housing estate as there is a shortage of homes in Cowley! The children were outraged by Mrs Sarah Brown’s building schemes and were determined to put a stop to them! We took to Florence Park armed with clipboards and pencils and took part in a survey into the usage of the park and the importance to the local community. We recorded the amenities and facilities available and the footfall of the park. Back in school we analysed our data and recounted our expedition.

Next week we’ll be continuing our learning and discussing the reasons for and against building on local green spaces. In English we’ll be reading and writing our own riddles and in Maths, we’ll be continuing our fraction learning.
