Anemones Weekly Reflect and review26 April 2024 (by Lisa Brown (LisaB)) |
This week our children have been busy in the garden. They have enjoyed a range of activities and we have talked about what they are learning and how their bodies are moving to achieve different tasks and learn new skills. From racing around the garden and using scooters to climbing and building, from reading and writing to playing creatively and picking flowers, it has been wonderful. The children have gained a greater understanding of how to look after their learning environment, built upon their knowledge and understanding, developed their social skills and added to their widening and rich vocabulary. We have even on a ear hunt, build sandcastles by the sea, aced rocket ships and become builders...
In phonics we have been using sounds to create ‘recipes’ and built upon our listening skills. It can be very tricky! We have also been sharing stories and developing our comprehension skills as we discuss the stories in increasing detail.
In maths we have been looking at patterns and been working hard to create our own patterns. Perhaps you could enjoy a pattern hunt over the weekend! There are so many to see in the garden.
We also made jame sandwiches! Yum! This was to offer the children an opportunity to make their own sandwich whilst practising their spreading skills. The children demonstrated great concentration and focus as they added the butter and jam to their sandwich. Watch out, they will be cooking tea in no time!
please remember that now the weather is warming up that it is important that your child is protected from the sun. Please apply all day sun ram to your child before the school day. This will keep them protected from the sun whilst we play outside. Thank you.
Have a lovely weekend and we will see you on Monday ready for another busy week!
