Anemones Weekly Reflect and Review3 May 2024 (by Lisa Brown (LisaB)) |
We have had another wonderful week of learning. In phonics we have been listening to sounds and distinguishing between the differences in vocal sounds, including oral blending and segmenting. The children had great fun pulling faces to emphasise different sounds!
In maths we have been naming 2d shapes and talking about how many sides and corners they have. We also made our own shape animals!
We have also been developing our fine motor skills through exploring a range of malleable materials. This week we used our observational skills to make elephants out of clay. They look amazing! We have been practising writing our names too using our names cards. In can be very tricky to hold the pencil correctly so lots of practise at home will help.
Please remember that we are out a lot during the school day and the children need to be protected from the weather so please apply all day sun cream to your child before school starts and ensure they have a water bottle and sun hat in school for the summer term.
Have a lovely weekend and we will see you all back on Tuesday for another exciting week! Thank you.
