    The Pod reflect and review

    10 May 2024 (by Sarah Colverson-Martin (Sarah))

We have had another busy week looking at our topic of 'Go Wild'

This week we have continued to explore the wild animals and the zoo. The children collected grass from the garden and took it inside to feed the farm and zoo animals.

We also took the topic outside and have made habitats for the animals using the natural environment. We have thought how we look after animals and insects on our bug hunts and how we use 'Our gentle hand and not our squishing fingers.' to hold the bugs. Building on our experiences and understanding of the natural world.

The children have enjoyed listening and then acting out the story of Handa's Surprise, they have looked at the different animals in the story and all the different fruit that Handa takes to her friend Akeyo.

Next week we will be comparing the size of different animals, the parent animals and their young and what they are called and reading the book the zoo keeper.

Please can I remind you that your child needs to have a sun hat and sun cream applied before nursery, if you provide a bottle in their bag we can reapply. Thank you for your continued support.

The pod team hope you have a restful and relaxing weekend and enjoy the sunshine. See you all on Monday.
