Oceans Weekly Reflect and Review17 May 2024 (by Andy Gilbert (Andy)) |
Summer: week 5 This week’s maths home learning: Pacific & Arctic: Time p101 Indian: Money p97-99
In Oceans this week we’ve been working hard on finalising our newspaper reports and, in Maths, either concluding our work on money or starting to look at time. Understanding units of time and telling the time on an analogue clock can often be tricky concepts for children to master. A solid understanding of the 5 times table is obviously a massive help!
This week’s maths home learning:
Pacific & Arctic: Time p101
Indian: Money p97-99
Today, as part of our work on habitats, we joined thousands of people around the world to participate in Endangered Species Day. To mark the celebration we created our own endangered species art based upon a large-scale street art project. Earlier in the week we considered natural and man-made changes to habitats and environments and through our ‘build an animal park’ inquiry considered how we can care for and protect animals for future generations.
We’ll be continuing this theme next week when, on Wednesday 22nd, we visit London Zoo. The coach will leave promptly at 8.00. Please ensure that your child is at school at 7.45. We aim to return around 16.30 and will post our arrival time on school jotter. Children should wear school uniform and bring with them a small rucksack with their hat, lunch, water and healthy snacks.
Also as the weather improves please remember that your child needs to have a sun hat and sun cream applied before school, if you provide a bottle in their bag they can reapply.
Have a great weekend.
