Summer Term Week 6 Maths home learning: White Rose workbook p104 and BigMaths CLIC.
This week was, of course, all about the trip to London Zoo. With traffic problems on the way there and on our way back it turned out to be a long day. However, the children were brilliant. Spirits were not damped by the rain on arrival and there were very few mentions of tiredness, even though we covered a lot of ground at the Zoo.
The children's (and adult's) highlights included the languid giraffes, penguins racing across the pool, the outrageously colourful butterflies and moths, the urinating monkeys, the sleepy big cats (both the lions and tigers were in relaxed mode) and the gorillas who put on a very educational show for one of the groups.
Back in school this week, in maths, we have continued to look at time. Children have been converting between analogue and digital times and distinguishing between times in the morning and afternoon. They should understand how time is described using 'minutes past' and 'minutes to' the hour. We've also been recapping and embedding the key concepts of year, month, week and day, minutes and seconds.
Maths homework for the half term break: White Rose workbook p104 and BigMaths CLIC.
When we return we’ll be looking at the key elements of the Jewish faith and answering the question: How celebrating Shavuot helps Jewish children feel closer to God?
See you in June!
