Anemones Weekly Reflect and review7 June 2024 (by Lisa Brown (LisaB)) |
We have had a wonderful and busy start to the term. Our new topic is ‘water, water everywhere’ and the children have had a great time exploring our new water play area in the garden. We have been learning about swamps and rivers. We also made fizzy rainbows in science using bicarbonate of soda, coloured lemon juice and then with shaving foam. It was all very exciting!
In phonics we have started to focus on a new sound each week as we begin to prepare for our transition into the Reception Class. This week we have focused on the letter M.
In maths we have been busy working on number composition, grouping objects and learning the days of the week. Perhaps you could learn our new days of the week song!
We would like to remind you that children must have suncream applied before school using all day application. We cannot cream the children at school and so it is important that they are covered before they arrive. We spend a great deal of time outside each day and the children will get sun burn if they are not protected. Please ensure your child has a sunhat and water bottle in school every day that are labelled with their names.
We have also have number of cases of chicken pox in Anemones. It is important that your child does not return to school until their spots have completely scabbed over. This is to reduce spreading and infection.
On Friday 5th July we will be having a teddy bears picnic and end of year celebration from 11:30-1:30. Please let us know if you would like to come. Hopefully it will be a sunny afternoon.
Have a lovely weekend and we will see you all on Monday ready for another week of fun learning.
