The Pod reflect and review21 June 2024 (by Sarah Colverson-Martin (Sarah)) |
This week the children have continued to explore water in different ways, both outside and inside. Making the most of the warm weather and cooling off by paddling our feet.
We used our mathematical language of full, empty half full, more and less as we filled and emptied containers and bottles. We have used our counting skills while building sand castles. How many scoops of sand do you need to fill the bucket?
We have learnt a new song about different animals that live in the sea, and have been practising songs that we want to share with you at our teddy bears picnic.
We have made Eid art work to celebrate the festival of Eid, this then provoked a discussion on other celebrations and festivals. Cake was a favourite food that you need as part of a festival.
The children have be building on their physical development and writing skills by making marks in flour, using mark making tools in coloured sand and drawing different sea animals.
Please remember to sun cream your child before they come to nursery, we are happy to reapply sun cream to your child that you provide in their bag. We do spend lots of time outside as this is an important part of the child's learning.
Our teddy bears picnic is on Tuesday 16th July 11.30-1.30 we are looking forward to you joining your child for this special end of term celebration. Please let staff know if you are joining us so we have some idea of numbers.
Have a fab weekend and enjoy the sunshine and we will see you all on Monday.
