Pod Weekly reflect and review28 June 2024 (by Sarah Colverson-Martin (Sarah)) |
A very busy hot week enjoying lots of water play.
The children have been busy this week continuing to look at different sea creatures where they live and what they feed on. They have used different materials to create their own.
We have read the book commotion in the ocean and thought about which creature we would like to be. To build on and developed our physical skills we chose an animal from the book and acted out the way they move, we walked sideways like the crab, jiggled like a jellyfish, waddled like the penguins and crawled like the turtles.
In the garden we have been using our communication and negotiation skills as we built a submarine to visit the animals at the zoo. We have had lots of water play to keep us cool and have paddled our feet and splashed each other.
The younger children have been practicing their hand eye coordination through playing a magnet fishing game and completing inset puzzles.
A reminder that our teddy bears picnic is on Tuesday 16th July 11.30-1.30 all parents are welcome to join us and children that do not attend on a Tuesday are welcome with a parent. If your child has a school dinner on a Tuesday please on this occasion can they have a picnic lunch. Many thanks.
Sun hats and sun cream reminder. Please apply sun cream before nursery as applying sun cream to over 30 children daily takes up lots of playing time.
Have a great weekend and see you all next week.
