    Summer 2 Week 4

The week ends slightly cooler than it started. Mid week as the temperature peaked in school the delivery of ice pops was eagerly awaited and a welcome relief! Many thanks to those who brought cash in and an even bigger thank you to those who brought in some extra pennies to purchase frozen joy for someone else.

It’s been another busy week in Oceans. As part of our Geography focus on Europe, we took a trip to Bologna, in Italy, and spent time as tourists looking around the old town and the university citadel. We went shopping and stopped off at a pizzeria for a suitably Italian lunch. We looked at the towers in the mediaeval city and contrasted this with the rolling green hills that surround it.

In English we’ve continued our work on Journey, creating similes, noun phrases and detailed descriptions, while in maths we’ve been working on our wider numeracy skills, covering shape and geometry, position and movement on a grid and statistics.

    Maths Home learning this week:
Pacific: Yr3 Position and direction worksheet Yr4 p122
    Indian: Shape p111
    Arctic: Shape p114

Next week we’ll be looking at Mediterranean food and making our own dips and continuing and consolidating our geometry, positioning and statistics maths learning.

As ever please remember that your child needs to have a sun hat and suncream applied before school, if you provide a bottle in their bag they can reapply.

    Have a great weekend.
