Anemones Weekly Reflect and Review5 July 2024 (by Lisa Brown (LisaB)) |
Anemones know how to party! We have enjoyed an afternoon of fun; dancing, making cakes, preparing snacks and playing games. Great fun was had by all!
This week has been another busy week in the Anemones class, we have done a lot of work around family this week. We have thought about who is in our immediate family, who is in our extended family and how far away they may be from us. The children talked about family members who live in different parts of the world, how often they get to visit and how they travel. The children shared their favourite places, colours, foods, animals... and we discussed how we are all so different but that we all follow the same Golden Rules.
In phonics we have focused on the letter D. Perhaps you could go on a phonics walk this weekend to identify things you see that begin with the letter D. Next week will be focusing on the letter P.
In maths we have been learning about floating and sinking. In the water we have compared different objects from corks to pebbles and thought about which float and which sink. The children made predictions before testing and object then we talked about if it had done what they though and why. There was lots of investigation going on.
Next week we have our splash party on Wednesday. Please make sure your child comes with a towel and full set of spare clothes, including shoes. This will be for morning children only. If your child does not have these items they will be unable to join in the splash party as we have no spare clothes in school.
Have a lovely weekend and we will see you next week for another exciting week of learning. Thank you.
