Coral Reef Reflect and Review13 July 2024 (by Laura Thornton (LauraT)) |
We had a splashtastic end to our year in Reception this week!
As mathematicians we have been practicing our counting and ordering numbers to 20 and beyond. We have been thinking about patterns through stories such as Pattern Fish and we had a go at recreating our own repeating patterns using a range of loose parts.
As writers we continued writing postcards linked to 'The snail and the Whale's story, using feeling and touch words to bring our writing to life.
In PE we performed dances about going on summer holidays and practised creating dances with a partner.
As musicians we enjoyed selecting our favourite percussion instruments and taking turns to play them.
We had a sale sign on our home corner this week and some of the children helped to box up our home corner items ready for the new reception children.
We had a huge amount of fun on Wednesday at our pool party in the garden and we were so lucky that the sun came out! The children especially enjoyed the slip and slide!
Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye but we are so proud of the children's progress over the year and all they have overcome and achieved. We will miss them dearly knowing that they are ready for Year One!
On Monday please take your child to the main school gate ready to be received by their new teacher!
If you are starting with us in Coral Reef on Monday...we can't wait to see you at 8.30! Please come to the gate opposite the POD garden where we will greet you!
Term finishes for the summer at 11.30 on Friday.
