Welcome back and welcome to our new families and our new member of staff that have joined the Pod. 

The children have settled well and are building relationships with their key person.

This term's topic is 'Down in the woods' the children will be looking at traditional tails and stories that take place in the woods. We will be focusing on feelings, how we feel, what makes us happy, sad and different emotions. This will link to personal, social and emotional development.

This week we read 'The Gruffalo' and talked about the different animals the mouse tricked, and how clever he felt. 

The children explored mark making in paint and mixing colours, this building on their physical development and strengthening their fine manipulation and muscles ready for writing. 

We have be using our gross motor movements by taking part in singing and dancing, crawling through tunnel's and using the up and over slide. 

Next week 'We're going on a bear hunt' this will be our focus story.
