Weekly reflect and review The Pod20 September 2024 (by Sarah Colverson-Martin (Sarah)) |
Who's been eating my porridge?
This week as the children have continued to explore the story of 'Goldilocks and the three bears' we have tasted porridge, learnt the repeated refrain from the story.
We have been using and extending our mathematical skill by counting the number of bears, bowls, beds and chairs and have been positioning them in ascending and descending order of size.
Whilst in the tuff tray with the oats we have practiced out skill of scooping, pouring, concentration and perseverance as we have placed the oats in the bowls, We have used the puppets to retell the story.
The children have used the crates in the garden to balance along gaining more confidence and skill as the depend less on an adult to help them.
All children love singing and we know this is important in their language development extending their vocabulary, understanding and attention skills. The children initiated singing in the garden with lots of renditions of 'Sleeping bunnies' 'Sleeping dinosaurs' was an interesting choice.
Next week we will be looking at different animals that live in the forest, and reading the story of 'Brown bear brown bear what do you see?'
We wish you all a very happy weekend, enjoy the sunshine as I think wellies might be our main foot wear next week.
