Explorers Reflect and Review27 September 2024 (by Menna (Menna)) |
This week in Explorers, we’ve had a busy week with lots of investigations. Discovery, Endeavour and Beagle all visited the Curiosity Cube at Greyfriars, investigating the sustainability of fabric and the fashion industry.
Year 6 have been busy filling their gaps in Maths with a focus on addition, moving onto subtraction next week whilst Year 5s have completed their place value unit and are moving onto addition and subtraction next week.
As writers, Discovery have finished their plans for formal contracts and will finish writing them on Monday, Beagle and Aegean are planning their own versions of ‘sister for sale’, exploring the author techniques and those we might use. Endeavour have completed their sentence stacking of the Hobbit and we’re looking forward to our independent writing next week.
In topic, Discovery and Endeavour have been exploring the structure of volcanoes, taking inspiration from Margaret Godfry and recreating our own volcano collages. Beagle and Aegean have been continuing to investigate DNA through looking at extinct animals.
