Anemones weekly Reflect and review4 October 2024 (by Lisa Brown (LisaB)) |
We have had another busy week in the Anemones class we have been learn8 g about the story of Goldilocks and the 3 bears, singing songs about Goldilocks, the bears and thinking about numbers to 3. We also enjoyed some tasty porridge! Next week we I’ll be introducing the story of Hansel and Gretel, and thinking about healthy eating and the not so healthy choices we make!
In maths we have been focused on weights, thinking about which objects are heavier than others, even if they look bigger. The children used the weighing scales to make comparisons.
In phonics we have been developing our listening skills. It was so exciting to listen to the tiny chair of our baby chicks! Islands were very kind and let us hold the chicks which was so interesting. The children were fascinated as they listened to them chirp.
We have also been busy developing our fine motor skills through a range of malleable materials. The children used the tools to make models with the play dough. The engaged in a collaborative art project, using cotton buds to make marks and we have been re creating the Goldilocks and the 3 bears story using the porridge it’s, spoons and wooden objects. All great fun!
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and look forwards to seeing you back on Monday to tell us all about your busy weekends!
