    The pod reflect and review

    4 October 2024 (by Sarah Colverson-Martin (Sarah))

    It's a bear!

The children have shown such an interest in the story of 'We're going on a bear hunt' that they are now confident in using the story tuff tray and puppets to retell the story in their own way. This building on their listen skills, taking turns and listening to others.

In the garden the children made cakes, Gruffalo crumble and cups of tea, for the bear, the Gruffalo and the mouse. Using the mud garden. We used mathematical language as we counted how many we had made, the number of scoops and which was the biggest.

The children have built on there coordination skills and physical development with rolling different sized balls down guttering and using loose parts in their play.

The children used gloop to make marks using their hands and the woodland animals, by building on the children's finger and  muscle control. Which will later help with the holding and control of pencils ready for writing.

We are looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible at our drop in session on Tuesday 8th October 8.30-9.30 this is an opportunity for you to see how we play interact and develop your children's learning  and how you can continue this at home.

Please can we remind you that the children need wellies and spare clothes as we go out in all weathers as we know this is important for the children's learning, mental health and wellbeing.

We all hope you have a lovely weekend and keep well as there have been a few sniffles and runny noses in nursery this week.
