Anemones Weekly Reflect and Review11 October 2024 (by Lisa Brown (LisaB)) |
The Anemones children have had another fun week. The children have been thinking about friendship, new friendships they have made since joining our class and other friendships they have out of school. We talked about how we can be a good friend and what we enjoy doing with our friends. We have been thinking about the story of Hansel and Gretel. We have focused on healthy eating, oral hygiene and stranger danger! The children made some beautiful toothbrush paintings, very creative and smiley!
In maths we have been looking at shape objects, these match the objects on flash cards. We went on a shape hunt to find the objects. It was all very tricky. We have been reciting numbers to 5, understand in numbers to 3, and creating pictures using 2D shapes.
In phonics we have been developing our listening skills. We have been using our descriptive words to play our farm game, we had to guess the animal through descriptions only! Each child took turns to describe a farm animal of their choice. The children talked about their own experiences of trips to the farm and shared their favourite animals.
Next week we have parents evening. Every family will receive a phone call to share how their child has settled and how they are moving forwards in their learning. Unless Lisa has spoken to you already, we will call between 3:00 and 4:30pm on Wednesday 16th October. Please let us know during the phone call if you have any concerns. We are looking forward to celebrating your child’s achievements with you.
Have a wonderful weekend and we will see you back on Monday ready for another busy week.
