Anemones Weekly Reflect and Review25 October 2024 (by Lisa Brown (LisaB)) |
The children had a fabulous time at the theatre today watching the Cinderella performance. It was great fun and the children enjoyed joining in with the songs, it was all very creative! The children were captivated by the amazing musical performance.
The children have had another wonderful week. They have been busy mixing colours, both inside and out! They have continued to learn about traditional tales, this week we have focused on the 3 Billy Goats Gruff. The children did an amazing job of re-telling the story using their puppet sticks.
In phonics we have brought together our learning around listening. We have been developing these skills throughout the term and the children have really enjoyed playing our listening games, especially ‘what’s the time Mr Wolf’ and Bear, bear your hunny is not there. Have fun playing these games at home, it’ll be great if you can share any new games you enjoy playing together at home, after half term, so that we can also play them in school.
In maths we have been busy sorting. The children started by sorting the counters by colour. They then built upon their skills by sorting objects they found in the environment - animals, dinosaurs, trains... we sorted objects by size, colour and type.
After half term we will be starts our new topic around the seasons and nocturnal animals. We will be starting with the story ‘day monkey, night monkey’. We hope you all have a wonderful half term and will see you back in school on Wednesday 6th November.
Many thanks
The Anemones team.
