Anemones Weekly Reflect and Review8 November 2024 (by Laura Thornton (LauraT)) |
We welcomed the children back from half term to a super busy fun week!
We have had a busy first few days back in Anemones! We have started our topic around seasons and nocturnal animals and have been listening to the story ‘Day Monkey, Night Monkey’.
On the tuff tray the children have been exploring natural materials such as different leaves, conkers, sticks and pinecones and have been creating animal footprint artwork and splatter paint fireworks on our creative table.
In maths we have continued sorting objects into groups by colours and type. We have developed this by discussing why an object belongs in that group and correcting an object that has been put in the wrong group.
In phonics we have been using musical instruments and noise makers to experience and develop awareness of sounds. We listened to our story ‘Kringeli Krangeli’ and joined in with movements to the words.
This week we have also been playing with our new friend Ellen! Ellen will be joining the Anemones team, taking over Lisa’s role as class teacher, but still working very closely with her.
Many thanks,
The Anemones Team.
