    Anemones Weekly Reflect and Review

15 November 2024 (by Laura Thornton (LauraT))

Remembrance day, a health visitor and children in need this week!

We have had a wonderful full first week back in Anemones!

On Monday, we remembered the soldiers who fought for our country. We listened and watched the BBC kids’ video ‘Poppies’ in the 2-minute silence. During the day, we created some beautiful poppies with paper plates and paint for us to take home.

On Tuesday morning we had a visitor come into Anemones and talk to us about keeping our teeth healthy. To help us, we have been given timers to watch as we brush our teeth at home to ensure we brush our teeth for 2 minutes every morning and evening! Our visitor emphasised the importance of having a healthy breakfast such as fruit, cereal or toast, to keep our teeth strong.

On the creative table this week, we have been creating artwork to add to our display. We made fingerprint bats and butterflies and worked as a team to paint and stick tissue paper onto our Day Monkey and Night Monkey. At the end of the week, we drew around 2d shapes using pencils and, as a group, made fireworks in a jar!

During maths, we have been exploring patterns with different objects like sticks, stones and blocks.

In phonics, our story this week was ‘Sandy Hill’. We continued using musical instruments to experience and develop awareness of sounds.

We have been playing lots outside this week with chalk, particularly drawing around each other!

    Have a lovely weekend.

    Thanks,

    Anemones team.
