Anemones Weekly Reflect and Review22 November 2024 (by Laura Thornton (LauraT)) |
A chilly week in Anemones!
We were so lucky at the start of the week to experience some snow this early on! We have been playing in the snow and enjoyed breaking ice we found throughout the week.
This week was road safety week. We discussed how we keep safe outside of school around roads while sticking and glueing paper cars. We continued this during our Big 3 + Me session where we looked at different scenarios and thought about how we might feel and what we might do to keep safe.
On our creative table we have been super busy creating artwork for our display! At the start of the week, we created Diwali tea lights using salt dough and have been table to take them home with a candle to light them! Following our topic, we have also been making and discussing nocturnal animals, such as, owls and hedgehogs.
Across the week during maths we explored 2d shapes, such as a square, rectangle, circle, and triangle. We even learnt a new shape called a hexagon! We secured this knowledge through activities during plan and do.
In phonics we have been enjoying listening to ‘Pat-a-cake’ and taking part in listening games with musical instruments.
In our tuff tray we had so much fun exploring the owl display. We roleplayed with plush owls, read the stories, and also sorted the autumn objects using tweezers and baskets!
Open morning! -
If you would like to see our classroom in action and our beautiful artwork, please come to the open morning on Saturday, November 30th, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. You will see the wonderful environment your children learn in every day!
Just a reminder – if you would like to leave your buggy at school, please take it around to the front of the school inside the gates, where they are kept secure. Please do not leave it outside the door to Coral Reef and Anemones.
Have a great weekend!
