The week started with our performance at the Sheldonian Theatre. Oceans were joined by years three and four from North Hinksey Primary, as well the Oxford Song pianists and opera singers. Thank you to everyone who managed to join us for the performance: it was amazing to sing in such a wonderful space and to such a large audience. The children have worked really hard on their songs and were very proud of their achievement.

In school we've continued to explore multiplication and linking it to division (fact families). The children have arranged objects in equal groups, and discovered how the number of groups and the size of the groups can be described.They’ve represented equally grouped objects with addition and multiplication expressions and connecting multiplication to repeated addition.

Indian and Arctic have spent time this week looking at bridges and combined maths knowledge (accurately measuring and marking) with design and technology skills (cutting materials accurately and safely) to create different types of bridges. Pacific have this to look forward to next week.
