Communication, language and writing skills
This week the children have been busy exploring shaving foam and gloop with artic animals, they have used the animals and their own fingers to make marks. This building on their early writing and mark making skills.
We have looked and discussed how the texture of dry sand changes as you add water, talking about when the sand is wetter it sicks together and you are able to make a sand creation and it doesn't fall down.
We have continued to think about our feelings as some of our new friends are still feeling a bit sad and how we can make them feel better. We have looked at Miss Beanies rules and thought about how we can be kind and gentle to each other, teeth are for eating our food. We have read the story 'Dinosaur Crunch'.
We have continued to develop our communication and listening skills with singing and stories. We are building on the vocabulary we already know and use, adding discriptive commentary and firmly embedding language. We are reading books about winter animals and frozen lands.
The younger children have been developing their gross physical development control using their arms as they painted and made marks on the easel.
Next week we will be celebrating Lunar Chinese New Year the year of the Snake. We will be tasting some foods and learning a dragon dance.
Hope you all have had a lovely weekend see you tomorrow.
