    Oceans Reflect and Review

    Spring Week 6

Happy Easter everyone. We hope you you have a lovely break.

This week in Oceans we have been thinking about the question: Is forgiveness always possible for Christians? To help us answer this we have been thinking about both forgiveness and resentment. We started the week talking about a fictional classmate, Alex, who wasn't making good choices. We acted out scenes and discussed how Alex's behaviour made us feel: how it became harder to continue to forgive Alex when the poor choices were being repeated.

We linked this activity to the Easter story: witnessing Jesus' entry to Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and Judas being given money to betray Jesus at the Last Supper. We discussed Jesus' arrest and him being put to death. Throughout this we thought deeply about how Jesus emphasized the importance of forgiveness and taught that forgiveness should be given freely and often.

We all agreed how difficult and personally challenging it is to forgive and, to help us be more forgiving friends, made turners featuring 5 helpful steps towards forgiveness: breathe, listen, accept, apologise and show the love!

We have sent them home with their assessments from last week. Each assessment has a standardised score on the front.

    Standardised score:

    Greater depth 110+

    Ontrack 100 - 109

    Just below - 95 - 99

    Below <95

We have also sent home information on the Summer term Cutty Sark trip, Tues 6th May. The cost of the trip is £30 which can be paid in cash at reception or via MCAS.

    Have a wonderful break.
