This week in Explorers we have continued to be scientists, looking deeper into evolution and adaptation. We have been learning how to talk about the rooms in our homes in Spanish, building on being able to say where our homes are last week, e.g. in the town, countryside or by the sea.
In English, Beagle have been exploring hidden images within the illustrations, looking at the actions of characters not included in the written words. We finished our week by writing diary entries as either Rose looking on, or as the characters hidden in the images. Cook and Shackleton have continued to look at Olive’s War, thinking about the motivations and emotions of characters.
As mathematicians, Beagle have been focusing on comparing and ordering fractions, while practising counting in 25s and 250s, and doubling 2digit and 3digit numbers. In Shackleton, we have been focusing on converting mixed numbers to improper fractions and adding fractions, both with and without the same denominator. In Cook, we have been solving problems involving division.
We hope that the year 6’s going to Paris next week have the most incredible time - although we don’t envy your start time on Monday morning! Enjoy!
