    Oceans Reflect and Review

    Assessment week done!

We have had a wonderful week filled with enthusiasm and positivity from the children, The children have approached each assessment with determination and confidence, showing just how much learning they have done so far this year. Their focus, resilience, and eagerness to do their best was  truly impressive.

As writers, Indian continued exploring our class text Iliona, diving deeper into the character’s thoughts and feelings. We have now begun planning the opening sentences of our diary entries, thinking carefully about voice, emotion, and the historical perspective. Both Arctic and Indian have started to plan their non-fiction writing as part of our Writing Workshop. The children selected an animal of their choice to plan their  information text on. They have begun to structure their ideas using titles, subheadings, key facts, and topic-specific vocabulary. We have discussed what makes a strong non-fiction text and how to organise information so it is clear, engaging, and easy for readers to understand.

As mathematicians, we have reached the end of our addition and subtraction unit. They have practised using number lines, column subtraction, and efficient mental strategies. Next week, we will be moving on to multiplication and division, where we will explore patterns, arrays, sharing into equal groups.

Please continue to support your children with their home learning.

    Have a lovely weekend.
