This week in the Rockpool Class we have been learning about the First Christmas. We have shared the christmas story and talked about the birth of baby Jesus. The children have also explored the Nativity scene and shown a great interest in the calendar. The children really enjoyed ordering the boxes from 1-25 and singing 'Old McDonald had a Nativity!' We have also been busy decorating our tree. The children added their own decorations and have also been busy making their own.

Next week we were going to offer a Christmas Stay and Play on Wednesday 17th. Sadly the only parents who have spoken to us about this session have been the ones who are unable to attend. As a result we will not go ahead with the stay and play session but we are going to continue with our Christmas festivities. The children are going to enjoy a Christmas Party. There will be lots of music, dancing, creative activities and snacks! Please encourage your child to wear their party outfits or dress for a Christmas celebration. It will be a fun afternoon. 

As part of our phonics sessions this week we have focused on our reading skills. Please continue to read with your children at home. Sharing stories is so important in supporting your child with their communication and langage, but also it is a lovely activity to do together. Talk about the story, discuss the characters, think about what may happen next...

Friday 19th December - Christmas Spirit Day - Wear whatever you like to show your Christmas spirit!
